Position Overview:

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team at Garrett County Lighthouse. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive environment for both patients and staff. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and understands the importance of cleanliness in a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of hallways, stairs, common areas, restrooms, and cafeteria Follow strict hygiene and infection-control protocols Safely handle and dispose of waste Replenish supplies such as soap, paper products, and cleaning materials Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing Report maintenance or safety issues promptly Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed thoroughly and consistently

Qualifications:

Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred, especially in healthcare or similar environments Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor Comfortable working in a mental health setting with respect and sensitivity toward others Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures
