The Custodial Technician will perform routine cleaning, sanitation, and floor-care duties to ensure the facility remains clean, organized, and visually appealing for students, staff, and visitors.

Applicants must have reliable personal transportation. The Upper Marlboro worksite is not located near public transportation. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and removing trash. Clean and disinfect classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas. Operate floor-care equipment, including floor buffers, scrubbers, and commercial vacuums. Perform floor-care services such as scrubbing, buffing, polishing, stripping, and waxing. Clean and maintain different flooring surfaces to preserve their appearance and condition. Refill soap, paper towels, toilet tissue, and other facility supplies as needed. Use cleaning products and chemicals safely and according to established procedures. Follow all workplace safety rules, sanitation standards, and cleaning schedules. Properly store cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment after use. Report damaged property, equipment problems, safety hazards, and maintenance concerns to management. Respond professionally and courteously to reasonable requests from school staff and facility representatives. Complete all assigned duties thoroughly and within the scheduled shift. Assist team members when necessary to ensure the facility meets CL Cleaning Services' quality standards. Experience and Qualifications Previous commercial custodial or janitorial experience is preferred. Floor-care experience is required. Experience operating buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other commercial cleaning equipment is strongly preferred. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and chemical safety. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain regular attendance. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Professional attitude when interacting with staff, visitors, and other team members. Must be able to pass all employment screenings required for working in a school environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift. Ability to safely lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Ability to operate commercial cleaning and floor-care equipment. Ability to perform physical cleaning duties for the duration of the scheduled shift. Transportation Requirement Reliable personal transportation is required. The facility is located in Upper Marlboro and is not accessible by public transportation.
