A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Overview Sunday River is seeking full-time or part-time Base Lodge Custodians with high standards and a great work ethic to join our team. This position must perform all aspects of custodial duties, including bending, stooping, and lifting at least 50 pounds. Custodial work requires self-motivation, working with little supervision, excellent organizational skills, and the characteristics of a team player. The Base Lodge Custodian position also requires availability on nights, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities Clean and maintain public area bathrooms, hallways, public common areas, and ski locker areas Empty and clean all waste receptacles and transport waste to dumpsters Vacuum, sweep, and scrub floors as necessary Move furniture, dust furniture, and wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills as needed Replace light bulbs Comply with our recycling program Shovel snow, sweep entries and walkways, and keep entries free of cobwebs and spiders Respond positively and quickly to guest requests Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety issues immediately to supervisor Assist other departments in the completion of their duties as directed by supervisor Qualifications Must be at least 16 years old. No previous experience is required for this position.
