Welcome to Maine School Administrative District #75 (MSAD 75)
Serving Maine's Midcoast communities of Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell, and Topsham, MSAD 75 is home to over 2,350 students and more than 600 faculty and staff members.
HOURS:
2:30pm - 11:00pm
HOURLY PAYRATE
$26.41 - $27.21
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS
Complete maintenance of assigned work areas in buildings and on grounds.
Maintain daily work schedule; including, but not limited to, unlocking and securing doors, controlling lights, daily checks of systems for heat and ventilation, emptying wastebaskets, sweeping, mopping, washing and waxing floors, vacuuming, dusting and cleaning bathrooms.
Set-up and take-down for special events and functions.
Act as a contact for individuals and groups using school facilities outside normal school hours.
Remove snow, salt and sand walkways when necessary.
Hours and location may vary/change based on District's needs.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED
Prior experience in custodial or maintenance work
Strong interpersonal Must work well with students, staff and the public
Must be dependable and reliable
Physical ability to perform physical requirements of the position
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of custodial tools and machines
Constant mental alertness to maintain safe working environment
State of Maine Department of Education background check (CHRC) authorization. How to apply for CHRC/Certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Activity Per Shift-
Standing/Walking:
6-8 hours: walking & standing on tile, concrete and other surfaces, walking up to 1-2 miles per day
Sitting:
1-2 hours
Lifting/Carrying:
3-5 hours, up to 50 pounds: equipment, supplies & trash
Pushing/Pulling/Sliding:
6-8 hours, up to 100 lbs: moving furniture, materials, & equipment
Climbing:
6-8 hours: stairs and ladders
Bending/Twisting:
3-5 hours
Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling:
6-8 hours: cleaning lower ares, retrieving supplies, picking up debris
Hands/Arms/Finger Dexterity/Hand Gripping:
6-8 hours, dexterity of hand and fingers for reaching, handling, grasping, and overhead reaching.
