Job Description

Position Overview:
C&C Cleaning Services is seeking a reliable and dedicated Janitor to join our custodial team. The Janitor will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of school facilities, ensuring a clean and healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently to ensure that all areas are properly cleaned and maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning & Maintenance Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, windows, and surfaces. Empty trash cans and replace liners regularly. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including replenishing soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. Clean and disinfect high-touch areas, including doorknobs, light switches, and handrails. Spot clean spills and stains on floors, carpets, and furniture. Facility Support Set up and arrange furniture for events or classroom activities as needed. Assist with the setup and teardown of special events, assemblies, or school functions. Report maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing, lighting, or HVAC problems) to the custodial supervisor for repair. Monitor the overall condition of the building and notify supervisors of safety hazards or needed repairs. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Ensure that custodial supplies are stocked and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished. Adhere to Baldwin Community Schools' policies and procedures for sanitation and cleanliness.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus but not required. Skills & Abilities Ability to work independently and efficiently. Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work. Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects as needed. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and procedures. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment in a safe manner.
Working Conditions:
This position requires work inside school buildings. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend hours required for special events or school functions. The job may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and other allergens.
