Duties Perform thorough cleaning of office areas, including desks, floors, restrooms, kitchens, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies. Handle custodial tasks such as trash removal, recycling collection, and restocking supplies to maintain cleanliness standards. Operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers and vacuums safely and effectively to ensure optimal floor care. Follow safety protocols when handling chemical agents, ensuring proper storage, usage, and disposal in accordance with safety procedures. Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of cleaning supplies and equipment while practicing safe lifting techniques. Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly to prevent the spread of germs. Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks when needed, including minor repairs or reporting issues for prompt resolution. Adhere strictly to safety guidelines during all cleaning activities to protect yourself and colleagues from hazards. Support a positive customer service experience by being approachable and responsive to staff or visitor inquiries related to cleanliness or facilities. Qualifications Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is preferred. Familiarity with cleaning procedures, equipment operation (including floor buffers), and sanitation practices. Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning agents. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting in accordance with safe lifting practices. Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards. Excellent time management skills to complete assigned tasks efficiently within scheduled hours. Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and responding professionally to inquiries. Prior experience with facilities maintenance or porter duties is advantageous.
