Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Janitor/Cleaner in Downtown Grand Rapids, working Monday through Friday from 5:30PM to 9:30 PM. This energetic role is perfect for motivated individuals who take pride in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments. As a key part of our facilities maintenance crew, you will ensure that commercial spaces are spotless, well-maintained, and adhere to safety and sanitation standards. Your efforts will directly contribute to a positive experience for visitors and staff alike, fostering a professional and hygienic atmosphere every evening. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of office areas, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces Handle chemical agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination Maintain a pristine appearance Utilize custodial equipment effectively for tasks like vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and trash removal Follow safety protocols diligently during heavy lifting and manual handling activities to prevent injuries Maintain cleanliness of all facilities by adhering to sanitation standards and ensuring all surfaces are disinfected regularly Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to ensure a secure environment for all occupants Qualifications Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate Knowledge of cleaning techniques Ability to handle chemical agents safely following proper safety protocol adherence Capable of heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while maintaining safe lifting practices Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and sanitation Excellent time management skills to complete assigned tasks efficiently within scheduled hours Good communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude to support a positive environment This role offers an engaging opportunity for dedicated individuals eager to contribute to a clean and safe workspace.
