Hillsdale High School 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a pristine and safe school environment by performing cleaning, custodial, and light maintenance duties. Your proactive approach will ensure our facilities remain inviting and well-kept for everyone who walks through our doors. Responsibilities Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness across all areas of the school. Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to preserve flooring quality. Handle janitorial tasks with attention to detail, ensuring restrooms, hallways, classrooms, and common areas are hygienic and organized. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs and reporting larger issues for prompt resolution. Support industrial cleaning projects when needed, utilizing appropriate equipment and safety procedures. Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and ensure proper storage of chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines. Collaborate with staff to ensure the school environment remains safe, clean, and conducive to learning. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in a commercial or educational setting preferred. Familiarity with floor care techniques such as buffing and stripping is highly desirable. Experience with residential painting or industrial cleaning projects is a plus. Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices including basic repairs and safety protocols. Strong work ethic with the ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures. Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
