About the Role We are seeking a full- time, evening, custodian who takes pride in helping maintain a campus that reflects the excellence and spirit of Catholic Central. The custodian works an evening schedule of 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM Monday - Friday with an occasional weekend or overtime. This role is not just about maintaining buildings. It is about supporting a thriving faith-filled environment where students encounter excellence in every space, from classrooms and labs to chapels, athletic facilities, and community gathering areas. You will help ensure that spaces like the George & Mary Turek Hall of Science, a 57,000 sq. ft. hub of innovation with advanced labs, robotics facilities, and immersive learning environments, remain clean, safe, and ready for student discovery each day. What You'll Be Part Of A mission-driven team that supports the daily life of the school community A campus that blends tradition and innovation in a faith-centered environment Major school events, athletic gatherings, performances, retreats, and celebrations A beautiful, highly regarded campus in a sought-after Novi location The behind-the-scenes work that makes extraordinary student experiences possible What You'll Do Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming spaces across the entire campus Care for and maintain floors, furniture, and building systems Help prepare and restore facilities for school events and community gatherings Respond to facility needs with professionalism and care Assist in securing buildings and ensuring campus safety Assist with the supervision of summer student workers Work alongside a team that values pride in service and attention to detail What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED Experience in custodial or facilities work preferred Respect for the mission and values of Catholic education Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proven time management skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships Ability to communicate clearly, positively, and in a timely manner Willing to complete required Archdiocese of Detroit training Willing to submit to drug testing, fingerprinting, and a criminal background check Physical Demands and Working Conditions Regularly moves about the facility to access various work areas Consistently stands for long periods and on occasion may be required to sit to perform custodial duties Continuously uses hand strength to grasp, operate, move, and control tools, equipment, and supplies Frequently bends or twists at the neck and torso to perform custodial duties Frequently lifts up to 50 pounds to move supplies and equipment; occasionally lifts/moves up to 100 pounds Frequently positions self to clean by bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching or crouching Frequently pushes/pulls objects such as bleachers, tables, and equipment Occasionally balances and ascends/descends ladders up to 12 feet Occasionally operates aerial lift platforms with working heights up to 26 feet Regularly exchanges verbal and written information accurately with supervisors, team members, staff and parents Regularly uses vision to perceive detail at close range and at a distance; to identify colors, adjust focus, perceive depth, and maintain peripheral awareness Why Join Catholic Central?
