Job Description
Staff Source is seeking individuals to join a Carpet Cleaning team as Technician Trainee for a Residential and Commercial cleaning company located in Sterling Heights, MI. This is a temp to hire position. Initial pay rate is $ 17.00/ hour. This position entails a 3 month probationary period. At the end of 3 months the ideal candidate will transition into driving company Vehicle and managing their own route. Eligible for significant pay increase after this transition into commission based pay structure. No prior experience is required comprehensive training will be provided. The ideal candidates should be clean cut, able to communicate effectively with customers, is trainable, enthusiastic, and eager to learn.
Basic Qualifications of Carpet Cleaning Technician:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Valid Drivers license isREQUIRED
Clean Driving record Have the willingness and ability to learn and work alongside a qualified technician Lift, push, and pull objects up to 50lbs as necessary Must be able to pass a Drug test Provide excellent customer serviceShifts Available:
1st shift : 8:30am/9:00am•5:00pm/5:30pm Monday to Friday (must work every other Saturday) 2nd shift : 5:00/5:30 pm•10:00 pmPay Rate:
Initially•$17/hr•-Potential for promotion/increased pay after 3 months (based on performance)Responsibilities:
Assist in carpet cleaning operations under the guidance of experienced technicians Employee is to report to the main facility at the start of their shift. From there, employee will ride along with a head technician on a route to various residential/commercial locations where they will perform their duties (see duties below). Employee will be trained to ultimately take on Driving company vehicle and managing their own daily route. Follow established procedures and safety guidelines under the supervision of a Head Technician (see below)Pre-Inspection:
Assess the condition of carpets and identify any stains, spots, or areas requiring special attention before starting the cleaning process.Preparation:
Set up equipment and tools needed for carpet cleaning, including portable or truck-mounted cleaning machines, hoses, wands, and cleaning solutions.Spot Treatment:
Apply appropriate cleaning solutions to treat stains and spots on carpets, using techniques such as blotting, scrubbing, or steaming.Carpet Cleaning:
Operate carpet cleaning equipment to thoroughly clean carpets, removing dirt, dust, allergens, and stains. This may involve techniques such as hot water extraction, dry cleaning, or steam cleaning.Furniture Moving:
Move lightweight furniture as needed to access all areas of the carpet for cleaning. This includes sofas, chairs, tables, and other items that may obstruct cleaning.High-Traffic Area Focus:
Pay special attention to high-traffic areas of carpets that may be more heavily soiled or stained, ensuring thorough cleaning and restoration.Drying:
Use drying techniques such as air movers or fans to expedite the drying process after cleaning, ensuring carpets are ready for use as quickly as possible.Final Inspection:
Conduct a final inspection of carpets to ensure they meet quality standards and customer satisfaction. Address any remaining spots or concerns before completing the job.Customer Interaction:
Interact with customers professionally, addressing any questions or concerns they may have about the cleaning process or results. Provide recommendations for carpet maintenance and follow-up services as needed.Equipment Maintenance:
Perform basic maintenance tasks on cleaning equipment, such as cleaning filters, emptying waste tanks, and ensuring all components are in proper working order.Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of services performed, including details of the cleaning process, any issues encountered, and customer feedback. Complete necessary paperwork and reports.Safety Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, your colleagues, and customers. This includes proper handling of equipment, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and awareness of potential hazards.Dress Code:
