A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Posting Noon Supervisor Sunset Lake Elementary 2026-2027 School Year Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated individual to add to our team at Sunset Lake Elementary School as a Noon Supervisor. This position works student days only 10:30-1:30pm, approximately 15 hours/week. This position is eligible to accrue sick leave through the Michigan Earned Sick Time Act, 1 hour for every 30 hours worked. Responsibilities
  • Supervise students to, from and on the playground, in lunch areas, in the classroom and on campus as directed by the principal or their designee.
  • Enforce playground, lunch area, and campus behavior standards.
  • Organize and supervise playground activities.
  • Acknowledge and reinforce desirable student behaviors.
  • Report serious problems that arise due to behaviors or injuries to the main office.
  • General duties as assigned by the principal or their designee.
  • The above duties and responsibilities are intended to be representative of the nature of the work by this position. The listing is not all-inclusive. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be of good health; and be able to lift, bend, and stretch as job requires.
  • Must have a good attendance record.
  • Must possess good decision-making skills.
  • Must be flexible in work assignments.
  • Must demonstrate sociability and warmth in attitude towards others.
  • Must pass background checks and comply with state and district requirements for working with students. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move about the building and campus to assist students.
  • May require and employee to lift and/or move heavy objects (up to 50lbs).
  • May require working in all types of outdoor weather conditions.
