Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and self-motivated Custodian to work cooperatively with Facility Director, Pastor, parish leaders, and other staff members to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our church and school facilities. This role is responsible for custodial and maintenance needs for the parish and school facilities, ensuring a clean overall appearance and safety for the buildings and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities Be present and ready to work at schedule time and days. Provide janitorial care of the facility/grounds for the parish and school; offices, entryways, restrooms, worship and meeting spaces. Along with outdoor spaces, i.e. snow removal & yard work. Set up and take down meeting spaces ensuring that the people using the spaces have what they need. Provide a secure environment for members, visitors and staff. Monitor building safety and security. Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of all facilities, church and school. Address school and parish maintenance or custodial needs as they arise. Follow daily cleaning tasks and address additional needs proactively. Perform light maintenance, including minor repairs and painting. Handle waste disposal and recycling according to established procedures. Track and request custodian and maintenance supplies as needed. Follow all safety and hazardous material guidelines. Support a safe environment for children, staff, and visitors in accordance with Archdiocese standards. Skills & Attributes Reliable, punctual, and organized Self-motivated with strong attention to detail Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds regularly Ability to climb ladders Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
