A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Eastern Carver County Schools' Building and Grounds Department is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for all students, staff and visitors. Our team provides daily support to maintain building systems and structures, service the grounds, provide custodial services, oversee construction and renovation projects, maintain compliance with building and fire codes, safety and environmental regulations, oversee security and fire alarm systems in all buildings. Salary:

$25.21/hr + $0.40/hr shift differential

Responsible To:

Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds, Custodial Supervisor/Head Engineer/Night Lead/Building Principal Position Purpose:

Under general supervision, perform maintenance and cleaning tasks and operation of various types of cleaning equipment to care for and maintain assigned buildings and related facilities; and perform related work as required. You may be assigned to work at different buildings depending on the needs of the district.

Qualifications/Physical Requirements:

Lift 70 lbs waist height occasionally Lift 50 lbs to chest high regularly Extended walking Ability to work with cleaning chemicals Must be in good general health Previous experience in cleaning and building maintenance Ability to obtain 2nd

Class Boilers License Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment:

This position is posted as a full-time (40 hrs/week), twelve (12) month position. In addition, the pay includes an additional compensation for boiler licenses and certifications when obtained. Eligible for benefits as negotiated with Union Local 70 and District 112 plus enrollment in Minnesota's largest retirement pension! This position is eligible for overtime and comp time.
