A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Custodian II Full-time, Non-Exempt, Benefit Eligible, Non-Union Position Pay:
$26.777- $34.

Overnight Custodian Needed at the City of Eagan! We're looking for our next dedicated overnight Custodian to help keep our spaces clean and welcoming. You'll use top-quality equipment for cleaning and minor maintenance tasks at key community locations, including the Eagan Community Center and other city facilities. Why Eagan? - Monday from approximately 8/9:30pm
- 4:30/6am.
Other Duties:
Attend seminars, educational training and all meetings related to the position. Answer questions and inquiries from the public and direct visitors to their destinations. Perform other maintenance or tasks as assigned. Applicant MUST pass a Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) background check and successfully pass the required BCA Criminal Justice Information Services Security Awareness Training test. High school diploma or acceptable equivalent (G.E.D.) Valid Driver's License. 18 years of age or older. Two years of experience in general building maintenance / minor repairs Two years of experience in commercial janitorial tasks. General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems/pneumatic and electronic controls, tools, cleaning equipment, and chemicals. Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Physically capable of performing all assigned tasks under the working conditions and physical demands as described. Three years of experience in general building maintenance. Previous experience with municipal buildings and community centers. State of Minnesota Special Boiler License. Vocational training in building maintenance and mechanical systems.Knowledge of:
Occupational safety hazards and necessary job-related precautions. And ability to read blueprints.Skills in:
Completing assigned tasks in a productive, efficient and timely manner.Ability to:
Work independently. Develop and maintain good working relations with other City staff, volunteer groups, residents, and visitors. Physical Requirements Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Able to manually transport awkward loads over short distances. Specific vision abilities required to include close vision distant vision and peripheral vision. Able to stand, talk, hear, write, climb, balance, run, walk, sit, stoop, kneel ,crouch, work on a ladder, and overhead. Working Conditions 75% indoors of assigned buildings 25% outdoors on grounds of assigned buildings or in transport to other buildings. Employee will be required to perform physical work (snow shoveling, unloading trucks, etc.) in all weather conditions common to Minnesota, including temperature ranges from- 30°F to 100°F and wind chills of
- 50°F. Emergency situations may require working in rain, sleet, snow, etc. City provided uniform in mandatory dress. Normal hours may vary depending on location assignment. Shifts include 7:00am
- 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday, 10:00pm-6:00am Tuesday-Saturday with alternate hours as scheduled or requested, including some Friday nights and/or weekend hours.
