A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform environmental service tasks, cleaning school buildings and grounds and minor repairs such as table, desk, and chair repair. Support services for day and evening activities in the school. Assist in providing a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place for students, staff, and the public.

B Custodian, Afternoon Shift Salary Range:

$18.54

$21.38 per hour 12 months per year Full 8-hour day Monday-Friday (3:00 PM
11:00 PM) Grand Rapids Area Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package.

The district offers contributions toward medical insurance including a health savings account. The district offers paid time off including sick leave, vacation leave, and paid holidays. District paid life insurance and long-term disability insurance are available to full-time employees. Retirement matching and health care savings account contributions are available after five years of service. Employees are eligible to attend home, non-playoff sporting events at no cost.
