In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring all school facilities are spotless, well-maintained, and adhere to safety standards. Your proactive approach to custodial tasks will support the overall health and safety of our school environment, enabling everyone to focus on learning and growth. Duties Perform comprehensive cleaning duties across classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas using various cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures to ensure effective sanitation without risking health or safety. Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of furniture, supplies, and cleaning materials in accordance with safe lifting practices to maintain a clutter-free environment. Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and other floor care techniques to preserve their appearance and safety standards. Restock supplies like paper towels, soap dispensers, and cleaning agents while ensuring all storage areas are organized and compliant with safety protocols. Perform minor facilities maintenance tasks such as residential painting touch-ups or basic repairs to keep the school premises in excellent condition. Respond promptly to custodial requests from staff or administration with a customer service-oriented attitude, ensuring a positive experience for all building users. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in a school or commercial setting is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning techniques including sanitation procedures and the operation of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums. Familiarity with chemical agent handling safety procedures to ensure safe use of cleaning products. Experience with facilities maintenance tasks like minor repairs or residential painting is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper safety protocols. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for managing supplies and maintaining cleanliness standards. Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
