A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Student Workers perform various preventive maintenance and daily cleaning as scheduled required or apparent. Duties performed in a manner that ensures a safe clean and fun environment for children and adults. Performs various preventive maintenance and daily cleaning as scheduled; required; or apparent; to help ensure safety of all facility equipment and the play area. Responds to accidents and/or emergencies in a calm and controlled manner. Works closely with staff for direction and guidance. Communicates with Facilities Manager and Maintenance Operation Coordinators to determine work priorities. Works closely with School District staff to ensure proper work techniques. Performs other job-related responsibilities as apparent or assigned. Must be at least 15 years of age. Must be enrolled in the Mounds View Public Schools Work Based Learning. Light cleaning and general custodial experience is desirable. Experience working with children is desirable.
