What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

- Clean homes thoroughly — dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces
- Handle laundry, including washing, drying, and folding
- Take care of floors through sweeping, polishing, and carpet cleaning
- Communicate with clients about their needs and preferences during each visit
- Keep a well-organized schedule so tasks get done on time
- Use cleaning supplies and equipment safely and correctly
- Help with occasional housekeeping management tasks as needed What Were Looking For
- Experience in residential cleaning with good knowledge of sanitation practices
- Familiarity with different flooring types and cleaning equipment
- Solid customer service skills
- Janitorial or hotel experience is a plus, but not required
- Comfortable doing laundry, including ironing
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning standards is helpful but not necessary
