A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Job Purpose The Custodian will perform general, routine custodial duties, to include cleaning of FCC buildings. This individual will do light maintenance work on items and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Qualifications Related work experience preferred.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Knowledge of different cleaning products and tools Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work with minimal supervision Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing and walking. Must be physically able to climb ladders and bend. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Core Job Duties Cleaning all floors by vacuuming and or mopping, emptying trash cans, cleaning, dusting all surfaces, cleaning windows, and disinfecting all areas and surfaces as needed. Performs routine maintenance on building systems such as (air filters, lightbulbs, batteries in devices, etc.). Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities. Orders supplies and materials as needed. Orally communicate information effectively and accurately. Coordinates and oversees that facilities are continuously in compliance and meeting CARF standards. Abide by program and agency policies and procedures. Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
