Job Description

This is a non-exempt position that reports directly to the Facility Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for the maintenance and general custodial duties at the Mozingo Lake Recreation Park Event Center and Golf Pro Shop. Primary responsibilities include general custodial duties, event set up and tear down, trash disposal, and inspecting facility conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs general labor, janitorial, and housekeeping tasks to clean and care for assigned building(s) and premises to maintain a safe and attractive environment. Cleans windows, floors and carpets, cleans restrooms and replenishes supplies, and empties trash. Adhere to a preventative maintenance routine for the facilities and ensures that it is properly implemented. Opens or secures buildings. Performs routine inspections of the facility, noting deficiencies, and notifies supervisor of any issues. Operates various mechanical, electrical, and battery-operated machines and uses cleaning materials to aid in performing janitorial and housekeeping duties. Prepares the Mozingo Event Center for the set-up and tear down of events in the meeting space and on the events lawn, which may include tables, chairs, tents, dance floors, etc. Keeps an accurate inventory of cleaning supplies, toiletries, and laundry supplies. Notifies supervisor when it's time to order more supplies. Performs snow and ice removal along walkways to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff if needed. Maintains an awareness of all park and golf course policies, procedures, and practices, assuring thoroughness and accuracy. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver's License.
PREFERRED
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent; one month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Items that this position has to lift, move, push or pull include tables, chairs, tents, and dance floor. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work is performed in laying cement, shoveling of wood chips, rock, and sand, push mowers, chain saws, weed eaters, and many types of vehicles and equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, direct sunlight. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock, dampness, dust, pollen, insect stings, and animals. The noise level in the work environment is usually average to loud. Driving required between work sites in the park and city offices. This position may be on call during inclement weather. Duties are generally performed during normal weekday hours, with some weekend and holiday work required as needed. Overtime and call out required as needed.
