A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

  • Part-time Mexico Housing Authority is looking for a part-time cleaner.
Cleaner position will be responsible for housekeeping tasks for administrative office and community center, as well as cleaning and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

m. This position will not have a set schedule as hours and work can be seasonal and will be based on the number of vacant units that will need to be cleaned. Flexible shifts are negotiable. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Office and Community Center Maintenance Sanitize public spaces and floor upkeep : Sanitize, sweep, mop, vacuum, wax and buff floors. Waste management : Empty trash receptacles and transfer waste to dumpster. Surface cleaning : Wash walls, windows, doors, handrails, and glass surfaces to remove dirt and debris. Restock supplies : Monitor and replenish hand soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue in restrooms. Vacant Unit Turns Deep clean vacated apartments : Scrub floors, walls, cabinetry, woodwork, bathrooms, and windows in empty units to prepare them for new residents. Appliance detailing : Thoroughly clean and sanitize stoves, ovens, refrigerators, and sinks.
Required Qualifications and Skills Experience :
Previous commercial, residential, or hospitality cleaning experience is preferred. Please provide references.
Equipment Proficiency :
Experience using basic janitorial tools such as vacuums, mops, and pressure washers. Physical Requirements Continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching for extended periods. Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently (e.g., trash bags, equipment, etc.) Willingness to work in environments that require an exceptional level of deep cleaning due to heavy soil or pests.
Pay:
$16.00
