A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Provide a clean, safe, positive environment for students by taking care of buildings and carrying out cleaning, maintenance and security duties. Responsibilities Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc) Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects Make adjustments and minor repairs Stock and maintain supply rooms Cooperate with coworkers and staff as a positive team member Follow all health and safety regulations Landscaping including mowing and weed-eating Requirements Ability to handle mowing equipment and machinery Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies Familiarity with safety procedures Integrity and ability to work independently Positive attitude and strong work ethic High school degree or equivalent
