Comprehensive benefits package available (optional) Qualifications Previous cleaning, custodial, or maintenance experience is a plus. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods. Duties Perform comprehensive cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and other school areas using commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums. Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning and sanitation processes following established safety protocols. Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks to move furniture, supplies, and cleaning equipment efficiently and safely. Maintain high standards of sanitation by disinfecting surfaces, restrooms, and common areas regularly. Operate cleaning machinery including floor buffers and other custodial tools to ensure floors are clean, polished, and well-maintained. Monitor facilities for maintenance issues such as broken fixtures or safety hazards and report them promptly for repair. Follow safety procedures diligently during all custodial activities to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with health regulations. Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as residential painting or general repairs as needed to support the school's upkeep. Provide excellent customer service by addressing staff or visitor inquiries courteously while maintaining a professional appearance. Skills Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services within a commercial or educational setting. Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and chemical handling safety procedures. Ability to operate cleaning equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools effectively. Physical strength for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks; adherence to safe lifting practices is essential. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. Good communication skills to collaborate with staff members and respond professionally to inquiries. Familiarity with facilities maintenance procedures such as minor repairs or painting is a plus.
