Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented janitor to provide daily cleaning services for a pharmacy and health clinic. The janitor will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for staff and customers. This position requires 3-4 hours of cleaning each day, Monday through Friday, performed inside of business hours. The pharmacy closes at 5 pm; it is needed to be there by 4:30 pm to complete the daily tasks before the pharmacy closes each day. The average workload per week is 15-18 hours. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in assigned areas. Maintain floors through buffing and waxing as needed to ensure a polished appearance. Conduct thorough cleaning of restrooms, break rooms, and common areas to uphold hygiene standards. Handle waste disposal and recycling in accordance with company policies. Assist with minor maintenance tasks and facilities upkeep as required. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly. Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and stored properly after use. Provide porter services as needed, including setting up for events or moving furniture. Experience Previous janitorial or custodial experience is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and industrial cleaning techniques is advantageous. Experience in floor care, including buffing and waxing, is highly desirable. Knowledge of residential painting or facilities maintenance can be beneficial. A strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team is essential.
