Custodian- 8 Hour Position, 2nd shift
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Have a positive attitude Desire to work with children Must successfully pass a background check. Be able to follow verbal and written directions. Have good communication skills and ability to work with students, faculty and parents of the District.
  • All Custodial personnel shall be able to carry/lift and safely transport items weighing up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to stand on your feet for an extended time during the work day.
Occasionally will be asked to work Weekends because of student activities.
Performance Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for safety, cleaning, securing, and minor maintenance operations of the assigned facility.
  • Uses cleaning tools, chemicals, hand tools, groundskeeping tools, and cleaning machines as directed or needed to maintain assigned facilities and grounds to expectations established by the school district.
  • Fulfill assigned duties routinely and assists in preparing facilities for scheduled activities.
  • Follows directions in preparing solutions and strives to maintain efficiency in the custodial operations of the building and in the district.
  • Operates all equipment, uses hand tools, and practices safety in all aspects of the position.
  • Responsible for securing the buildings, opening and closing.
Maintains adequate supplies for meeting the needs of daily responsibilities. Attends professional development activities or participates in activities requested by the employer which enhance the growth of the employee. Reports needed repairs to the appropriate supervisor immediately as to not interrupt the daily schedule of academics and activities.
  • Completes maintenance work orders when repairs are beyond the capacity of custodial responsibilities.
  • Must have dependable and reliable transportation as some travel between buildings is required.
  • Performs other duties as requested by Custodial Supervisor, Building Principal or Director of Custodial Services.
