The position we have available is for a full-time Lab Glassware & Maintenance Tech. This is an entry-level position focused on glassware cleaning and laboratory housekeeping. After consistently meeting these responsibilities, employees may cross‑train in additional laboratory support tasks and gradually take on more hands‑on lab duties. This progression is optional, performance‑based, and designed to support long‑term growth within the team.
Other responsibilities include the following:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily work includes the following: Cleans laboratory glassware and other equipment; Performs technical work related to the collection, cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of glassware according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensuring that quality standards and safety guidelines are met; Position may also maintain inventory records for laboratory glassware and other supplies, coordinate cleaning of lab coats, decontaminate glassware, dispose of hazardous waste, and monitor the laboratory distilled water system. Maintains the glassware-cleaning area in a clean and orderly fashion; Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of laboratory rooms and storage areas including general housekeeping such as removing trash, cleaning floors, and any other relative tasks that are assigned; Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of offices, conference room, and restrooms, including general housekeeping such as removing trash, cleaning floors, and any other relative tasks that are assigned; Follows the established housekeeping schedule as recommended by laboratory management; Assists in the breakdown of projects at the conclusion of tests; Performs basic science laboratory maintenance tasks; does related work as required; Flush eyewash station according to instructions based upon maintenance schedule; Routine cleaning and maintenance of temperature-controlled room; Utilizes PPE appropriately in all work-related situations; Ensures that cleaning procedures do not interfere with laboratory functions; Performs laboratory maintenance procedures in such a way that demonstrates awareness and avoids activities that risk contamination of ongoing laboratory activities; Performs additional duties as assigned. Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification. (Some college science credits are a plus)
