Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Childcare Janitor/Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our childcare facility. This vital role ensures that all areas are hygienic, well-maintained, and compliant with safety standards, creating a positive space for children, staff, and visitors alike. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and experience in custodial work to support our mission of providing a safe and nurturing environment for young learners. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of play areas, restrooms, kitchens, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies Handle chemical agents safely by following proper procedures for storage, mixing, and disposal to ensure a hazard-free environment Maintain floors through mopping, vacuuming to ensure a spotless and safe walking surface Qualifications Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings with a focus on child-friendly environments Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care, sanitation practices, and the operation of cleaning equipment such as buffers and vacuums Familiarity with chemical handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning agents to ensure safe working conditions Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to maintain cleanliness standards consistently Prior experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is preferred but not required Join our team as a Childcare Janitor/Custodian and play a crucial role in creating a healthy environment where children can thrive!
