A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

JOB TITLE
Facilities Custodian Lead Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM
JOB SUMMARY
Under minimal supervision, performs facilities maintenance, custodial services, installation, improvements, and/or repairs. May perform duties in a clean room environment. Acts as a working lead to the team. Participates in problem solving, associate engagement, and addressing issues within Custodial.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Provides direction and supervision to team. Follows up to ensure work activities are completed satisfactorily. Provides effective feedback to team. Responsible for following existing methods and procedures for maintaining the facility to meet regulatory requirements. Enforces a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation and associated documentation. Performs regular tours of site to ensure quality expectations are met; assigns follow up action items as applicable. Responsible for performing custodial and grounds keeping activities and facilities maintenance functions. Acts as a company representative to contractors regarding such things as bids, proposals and walk-throughs. Sets expectations for contractors; evaluates performance and measures results against Statement of Work. Collaborates with other departments cross-functionally to provide Facilities support. Works with internal resources to resolve problems. Assists associates in resolving conflicts. Contributes to associate evaluations. Facilitates group meetings. Coordinates activities and scheduling for Custodial in support of business need. Abides by and adheres to all normal safety or security rules and regulations and reports infractions. May be required to handle, collect, label, and/or transfer hazardous chemical waste following established procedures and guidelines.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May be required to work other shifts. Performs some work outside buildings in adverse weather conditions including snow removal.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education High school diploma or GED. Experience Minimum 1 year experience. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Skills Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor others. Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy. Demonstrates good customer service skills, team behaviors, and ability to handle interruptions. Works independently and is capable of making routine decisions. Ability to seek and implement solutions to problems in a team environment. Ability to work effectively with other associates and contractors by using good interpersonal communication skills. Ability for priority setting and managing a diverse workload. Ability to learn and comply with new methods, processes, and policies. Ability to respond with a sense of urgency and work effectively and productively. Ability to learn to read building layouts and blueprints. Ability to work in high places using ladders or lifts, and to work in tight or confined spaces for extended periods of time. Ability to successfully complete training on biohazards and other regulatory requirements. Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively. -Or- An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
General Labor Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.
