Non-Exempt Job Summary Performs unskilled tasks involving the cleaning of church kitchen. Distinguishing Features of the Class An employee in this class performs a variety of duties in the care and cleaning of the church kitchen. Duties include some physical activities such as lifting boxes. Work subjects the employee to inside environmental conditions and is subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions such as close quarters to high temperature ovens and dishwashers. The worker is also subject to exposure to fumes and odors. Work is performed under the supervision of the Director of Food Services and is reviewed regularly for successful completion of assignments and the adherence to sanitary standards.

Essential Duties and Tasks:

• Washing dishes by hand, including heavy pots and pans.
• Operating dishwasher.
• Unloading and putting away kitchen food and supplies.
• Keeping the kitchen clean by performing duties such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning heavy floor mats, emptying trash, and detail cleaning such as food preparation surfaces, washing walls, windows and sideboards in the kitchen.
• Assists in settling tables, serving food, making coffee, and other duties requested.
• Assures that adequate supplies are stocked: reports low supplies to supervisor.
• Assumes other responsibilities as assigned and deemed necessary by the Director of Food Services.

Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities Some knowledge of cleaning processes and procedures. Ability to read directions and follow written and oral instructions. Ability to perform medium to heavy physical work. Ability to communicate effectively with church members and staff. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with others. Ability to organize and use time wisely. Desirable Education and Experience

• Any combination of training and experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.

Hours:

Tuesday 3:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday 2:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Friday 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
