What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Workers' responsibilities predominantly include performing cleaning of restrooms, cafeterias, inside and outside entryway areas and in some locations warehouse areas. Normal duties include vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash and spot cleaning carpet. Service Workers may be required to operate various power equipment including: Vacuum Cleaners Single Disk Floor Machines Automatic Scrubbers - rider and walk -behind machines Restroom Cleaning Machines Education / Training Requirements High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent work experience. Satisfy all requirements required to obtain a level 1 Nuclear Access Badge Complete training and testing for areas required for access PAT and RWT as required by the areas assigned to perform the task. Minimum Skill Requirements and Accountabilities Meet all applicable requirements to maintain unescorted access Safe use and proper operation of applicable equipment Use and adhere to station policies and procedures. Effectively communicate and interact with co-workers, Supervisors and Sponsors to ensure Safe and Quality job completion for all assignments Ability to understand and follow oral and written communications, technical requirements, procedures and directives associated with working at a nuclear plant Ability to travel throughout the station ascending and descending stairs, brief periods of travel through high temperature areas, and deal with outdoor environments Able to lift 50lbs. Work Schedule 40-hour work week-Monday-Thursday operating 10-hour days during online periods. Ability to support on-call as needed and increased work hours including overtime during Outage periods, extended work week operating 12-hour days, 6-days a week. Please note-Online work hours are 4:30 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. Wage and Compensation Pay rate shall be discussed during the interview process, range is $17.50/hr DOE. Selected candidate will be eligible for contract specific benefits which include medical, dental, 401k, paid holiday, and vacation time (PTO).
