Overview Join our dynamic facilities team as a Day Porter Janitor and become a vital part of maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our commercial facilities, providing excellent customer service to building occupants and visitors alike. Your proactive approach will help uphold the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and appearance, contributing to a positive experience for everyone who enters the space. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your custodial skills while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation to maintain a pristine environment. Handle cleaning equipment such as vacuums, and chemical sprayers with precision and care. Safely handle chemical agents used for cleaning and sanitation by following all chemical handling safety procedures. Maintain all Break rooms, Restrooms, entryways cleaned and looking presentable Monitor common areas for safety hazards or maintenance needs and report issues promptly to ensure a secure environment. Provide friendly customer service by greeting visitors and responding professionally to inquiries or requests related to cleanliness or facility concerns. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings is highly preferred. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and other custodial tools. Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation standards. Experience with heavy lifting and safe lifting practices to move supplies or equipment efficiently. Background in facilities maintenance or general custodial duties that demonstrate reliability and attention to detail. Ability to follow safety protocols diligently while performing cleaning tasks in various environments. Previous porter experience or industrial cleaning background is a plus for success in this role.
