School Custodian

Position Summary The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly school environment on a daily basis. This role focuses on routine after-school cleaning tasks to ensure classrooms and common areas are ready for the next school day. We are a small, close-knit school community with a limited number of classrooms and facilities. The daily cleaning scope is manageable and designed to be completed within the scheduled part-time hours.

Schedule Part-time:

Approximately 2 hours per day, Monday-Friday Work hours: After school (e.g., 3:15 PM - 5:15 PM) Key Responsibilities Vacuum classroom floors and designated common areas Clean and disinfect desks, tables, and high-touch surfaces Empty trash and recycling bins; replace liners as needed Restock basic supplies (e.g., toilet paper, paper towels, soap) Perform basic restroom cleaning and ensure cleanliness standards are maintained Conduct a general walkthrough of assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and readiness for the next day Expectations Maintain consistent quality and attention to detail Follow school safety and sanitation standards Report any maintenance issues, damages, or supply shortages to the Facilities Manager Qualifications Prior cleaning or custodial experience preferred, but not required Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Ability to perform light physical tasks (standing, walking, lifting light items) Reporting Reports to the Facilities Manager or designated school administrator

Note:

This role focuses on routine cleaning duties and does not include maintenance or repair work, which are handled separately by the Facilities Manager.

Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
