Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment across our facilities. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers. Handle chemical agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination. Conduct sanitation procedures including trash removal, dusting, disinfecting surfaces, and replenishing supplies in restrooms and kitchens. Operate cleaning machinery and tools efficiently while adhering to safe lifting practices during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks. Maintain cleanliness standards by inspecting work areas regularly and addressing any issues promptly. Follow safety protocols consistently to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and others. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting as needed to support overall building upkeep. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly preferred. Familiarity with cleaning equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners. Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation standards. Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling in accordance with safe lifting practices. Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence within facilities maintenance environments. Customer service skills are a plus for interacting professionally with staff and visitors during cleaning routines.
