A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Pick up any trash found in the plant and warehouse which include thing like wood chips from pallets, stretch wrap, banding material, cardboard, labels, and label backing. Gather and empty trash receptacle in designated locations. Service, clean, and supply restrooms. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. Clean the exterior of the building by picking up cigarette but other trash found on the grounds. Operate industrial sweeper to clean plant & warehouse floor. Operate power washer to clean the interior and exterior of the building. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, and chairs, to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings. Notify QA Manager of labeling issues. Report individuals who are not proper storing media to QA Manager. Perform other tasks as assigned.
