Duties:
Perform custodial and general maintenance duties as listed below. Close building daily. Determine, each day before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured, and all lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off. Keep buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways and play areas, neat and clean at all times. Ensure entire facility is cleaned daily. Sweep, mop and sanitize floors daily. Wax floors as scheduled and keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition. Clean and dust all rooms, hallways and stairs daily and empty wastebaskets in these areas. Clean and sanitize bathroom fixtures and floors daily or as required to maintain acceptable cleanliness and empty wastebaskets and replenish paper and soap supplies as needed. Clean cafeteria dining areas after use, teachers' rooms and empty all wastebaskets. Clean all windows on both the inside and outside as scheduled. Operate heat, ventilation and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical use of fuel, water and electricity. Shovel, plow, salt and/or sweep sidewalks, steps, driveways and parking areas as needed. Sets up and breaks down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms, and functional rooms Event/meeting cleanup of food and drinks. Wipes down tables and chairs as well as cleans/sweeps floors. Repackages/covers food and drinks to place in the refrigerator, freezer and/or shelves/cabinets. Perform minor repairs and paint touch-ups for all buildings as needed. Move and assemble furniture and equipment within the building as required for various activities and as directed by the Building Principal and his/her designee. Comply with all statutes and regulations governing the storage and disposal of recyclables, trash, waste and debris. Report to the Building Principal and follow his/her directives. Establish rapport with student population. Work cooperatively with all personnel. Receives deliveries and assists in unloading trucks and storing supplies. Delivers supplies and materials to classrooms, bathrooms and other areas of the building Daily completion of job responsibilities as demarcated by custodial worksheet to be submitted to administrator on a daily basis. At all times, act as an appropriate role model for students through appropriate actions, dress and language. Perform other duties deemed necessary and appropriate by the Building Principal or his/her designee.
Experience:
- Black Seal license preferred.
- Previous experience in custodial or facilities maintenance roles
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment operation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Good communication skills to effectively interact with staff and management
