Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This vital role ensures that all areas are kept in pristine condition, promoting health and safety for staff and visitors alike. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding high standards of cleanliness through efficient cleaning practices and proper handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas. Handle various cleaning agents and chemicals safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to maintain floors and surfaces in excellent condition. Conduct sanitation of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to ensure compliance with health standards. Assist with custodial responsibilities related to facilities maintenance, including minor repairs or reporting larger issues for prompt resolution. Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks to prevent injuries. Support industrial or commercial cleaning projects as needed, including specialized floor care and custodial services. Skills Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles with a strong understanding of custodial procedures. Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning equipment. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on sanitation standards and facility cleanliness. Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary. Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
