A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

The core mission of the New Mexico State Land Office (NMSLO) is to responsibly generate revenue through a wide array of leasing activities on state trust lands on behalf of public schools, universities and hospitals. This position is responsible for supervising the custodial staff and overseeing the daily cleaning and maintenance of the Edward J. Lopez State Land Office building to ensure a clean and safe working environment for all staff and visitors. How does it get done? The Custodian Supervisor performs responsible supervisory work involving the assignment and direct supervision of custodial employees in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of buildings, offices, furnishings and building entrances in a timely manner. This position will train, manage, evaluate and guide custodial staff in daily duties while adhering to safety guidelines. This position will be responsible for maintenance such as shampooing carpets and waxing floors. This position is also responsible for inventory management, restocking and making proper logs, records and schedules. Who are the customers?
