A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Duties Description Part-time and full time entry-level custodial positions on various shifts. A Cleaner performs a variety of routine manual tasks requiring medium to heavy physical effort in cleaning and caring for an assigned area in buildings and adjacent grounds and sidewalks. Employees may work many weekends and holidays and are subject to mandatory and voluntary overtime.
Shifts available:
Full time, 11pm-7am (Weekend shifts may be necessary; pass days vary) Full time, 4am-12:30pm, Monday-Friday Full time, evenings, 5pm-1am, Monday-Friday Part-time, weekends, 1st shift: Saturday, Sunday & Monday Part-time, day shift, Monday

  • 2:30pm (+
  • 30 min depending on building assignment) Part-time, day shift, Monday
  • Friday 8am
  • 12pm Part-time, day shift, Monday
  • Friday 4am
  • 8pm Upon hire, a 52-week probationary period must be served. Some shifts may require a wait list for availability at the time of appointment. The wait list is based on seniority. Minimum Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of the properties of various cleaning substances.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and simple written instructions in English Ability to stand, stoop, bend and stretch for long periods of time Ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor Ability to use various cleaning equipment and products Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds and shovel snow Ability to read, write and understand English Successful applicants must be good communicators, have a positive attitude, and be able to work productively as a team member Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.
