What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Responsibilities Performs custodial tasks required to carry out daily contract requirements, according to agency instructed techniques. Completes all custodial roles (flooring, horizontal surfaces, restrooms, garbage removal). Responsible for adhering to contract requirements by achieving required production rates and quality specifications. Participates in quality control activities, such as building walk through with Custodial Trainer or Supervisor. Receives direction from the Supervisor/Crew Chief regarding assignment of duties each day/evening. Meets on a regular basis with Custodial Supervisor regarding performance and program planning issues. As a team member at The Arc Ontario, you will receive...
