Cleaner 2nd Shift

Full-Time Cleaner - 2nd Shift Starting July 1, 2026 The Cooperstown Central School District has an opening for a full-time, 12-month 2nd Shift Cleaner position. Starting pay is$20.74 per hour plus benefits, in accordance with the Service Unit Contract. This position involves responsibility for building cleaning and occasional minor maintenance tasks to help maintain a clean, safe, and healthy school environment. Cleaning duties are performed according to established procedures, while maintenance tasks are completed under direct supervision or specific instruction.

Responsibilities Include:

Cleaning and maintaining classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and other school facilities Operating cleaning and maintenance equipment Assisting with minor maintenance and grounds work as needed Supporting seasonal duties such as snow removal and outdoor upkeep

Qualifications:

Candidates should have: Working knowledge of common cleaning methods, materials, and equipment Ability to operate equipment such as vacuum cleaners, carpet shampooers, floor buffers, mowers, trimmers, and snow blowers Ability to follow oral and written directions Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks involving bending, climbing, reaching, and repetitive motion Willingness to work in environments involving dust, dirt, grease, grime, and odors Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail Physical condition appropriate for the demands of the position
