Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated School Maintenance & Hallway Monitor to ensure the safety, cleanliness, and overall upkeep of our school environment. This vital role involves maintaining hallways, classrooms, and common areas to promote a positive and secure atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to fostering a clean and safe school setting that supports learning and community engagement. Responsibilities Maintenance & Handyman Duties Perform general repairs and minor maintenance throughout the school building Handle basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and hardware repairs Repair doors, locks, handles, furniture, shelving, and other school equipment Assemble and install furniture, fixtures, and equipment as needed Identify and report building, maintenance, and safety concerns Assist with moving furniture, supplies, deliveries, and equipment Respond to maintenance requests from school administration Help ensure the school building remains safe and functional Hallway & Student Supervision Monitor hallways, stairways, entrances, and other assigned areas Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, class transitions, lunch, and other designated times Ensure students are not lingering in hallways or unauthorized areas Assist with maintaining an orderly environment during busy transition periods Report behavioral, safety, or security concerns to school administration Assist with monitoring school entrances or exits when assigned Qualifications Prior custodial or janitorial experience in a school or commercial setting is preferred. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment operation (including floor buffers), and sanitation standards. Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and manual handling while following safe lifting practices. Able to communicate professionally with students, staff, and administrators Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Salary:

$17 to $20 per hour (negotiable)

Pay:

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
