A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Come Join Our Team! The Daughters of Charity, provides a safe, welcoming home for the retired Sisters of the Daughters of Charity Ministries. Our team plays a vital role in creating an environment where Sisters feel respected, through independent living, assisted living and memory care. We are currently seeking a Per Diem Porter to support the daily upkeep and safety of our campus in Menands, NY. This role reports to the Facilities Director and is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys contributing to a mission-driven community. What You'll Do Perform basic maintenance tasks involving electrical and plumbing issues. Perform painting and carpentry tasks, where needed, both interior and exterior Snow removal from porches, doorways and walkways; application of ice melt where needed Maintain general upkeep of assigned areas. Maintain general building interior Perform commercial laundry duties Trash Removal. What We're Looking For Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, or custodial work preferred A reliable, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in their work Ability to work independently and as part of a team Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, or custodial work preferred Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Why Join Us? Physical Demands:
Must be physically able to efficiently perform the duties of the position, which may involve the following: standing and walking over 2/3 of the day, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, bending, reaching, and stooping for 1/3 to 2/3 of the day. Come join us - exciting changes are in the works!
