Part Time Maintenance Porter

Job Summary Red Cottage is seeking an experienced maintenance person with a residential household maintenance background. The Maintenance Porter will keep Red Cottage homes in perfect condition by making regular rounds, completing simple fixes on the spot, and alerting the team when larger repairs are required, ensuring every guest arrives to a clean, safe, and fully functional property.

Duties Site Inspections :

Complete scheduled inspections with detailed checklists, documenting conditions, flagging issues, and uploading photos for follow-up.

Stock and Supply:

Distribute amenities, paper goods and cleaning supplies to properties from company storage.

Light Maintenance & Repairs :

Swap bulbs, batteries, and filters; tackle minor plumbing, electrical, and hardware fixes; and handle seasonal tasks like deck washing and patio prep.

Weekends On-Call:

Available to respond to emerging maintenance issues on an on-call basis; must be reachable and able to coordinate or perform urgent repairs as needed.

Vendor Support & Oversight :

Meet third-party technicians, provide access, monitor their work, and confirm completion for the Maintenance Coordinator.

Record-Keeping & Communication :

Log all work, materials, receipts, and mileage in accordance with company standards. Communicate effectively to update and close work-orders. Qualifications Proven experience in basic facilities, handyman, or hospitality maintenance. Working knowledge of light plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems. Strong organizational skills; comfortable with mobile apps (Breezeway, Slack, Google Workspace). Clear, courteous communicator with a service mindset. Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and smartphone. Must have own vehicle. Able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work indoors/outdoors in varied weather.
