08/06/2026 12:07 PM The Nanuet Union Free School District is seeking a qualified candidate to join its Custodial Department. Job Description This position consists of routine work tasks involving cleaning of the interior of buildings and related building fixtures and equipment. Employee may also be involved in the cleaning and maintenance of building exteriors and grounds. The work is performed under direct supervision or in accordance with a specific schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
No formal education, training or experience required. Must have working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment. Must be able to understand and follow simple oral and written directions.
Other Requirements and Information:
When required to operate a motor vehicle under special or emergency conditions, an incumbent must possess a valid driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be driven. May operate a school bus or van on an incidental or substitute basis if appropriately trained and licensed. Performs exterior maintenance such as mowing lawns, sweeping sidewalks and shoveling snow. Assists in building maintenance work. Moves furniture and equipment. Collects and disposes of trash and recyclables. Washing windows, walls, tables, bathrooms, etc… Maintain floors by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, waxing, stripping and refinishing. Various cleaning, dusting and refilling of building supplies.
Salary and Benefits:
