Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish surfaces. Wash walls, windows, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, elevators, and tracks. Gather and dispose of refuse and hazardous waste. Replenish supplies such as soap, towels, and toilet tissue. Maintain janitor's utility room and care for assigned tools and materials. Assist with moving furniture and supplies. Set up for meetings and events. Shovel snow from walkways and steps. Respond to spills and accidents promptly. Follow sanitation and infection control procedures. Attend departmental meetings and in-service training. Demonstrate effective communication with geriatric residents. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Positive references. Ability to work under time constraints. Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs frequently; occasionally up to 100 lbs. Manual dexterity for grasping, typing, and writing. Visual acuity to perceive and distinguish details.
