In this vital role, you will ensure a pristine, safe, and hygienic environment for our staff, clients, and most importantly, our animal patients. Duties Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of exam rooms, surgical suites, kennels, and common areas following strict sanitation protocols. Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, and specialized floor care techniques to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met. Handle waste disposal in accordance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines and hospital policies to promote a safe environment. Restock cleaning supplies and ensure janitorial equipment is well-maintained and ready for daily use. Follow environmental services procedures to prevent cross-contamination and maintain infection control standards within the hospital. Conduct routine sanitation checks throughout the facility, including high-touch surfaces and specialized areas such as isolation rooms or treatment zones. Collaborate with veterinary staff to support hospital operations by maintaining a clean, organized workspace that meets all health regulations. Requirements Prior janitorial or custodial experience, preferably within a healthcare or hospital setting. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to cleaning, sanitation, and environmental services. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols accurately. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with veterinary staff regarding cleaning schedules or special sanitation needs. Physical stamina to perform repetitive cleaning tasks including standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment throughout shifts.
