A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

  • Ensure that the building and grounds are neat in appearance, clean, maintained, safe, and ready for planned church activities and events
  • Review scheduled events for the day/next day and make sure that the room set up is completed
  • Weekly vacuum sanctuaries and hallways
  • Each shift open
  • up and/or close building, empty trash cans in the building and take to outside receptacle
  • Restock restrooms with paper products as needed
  • Winter time
  • snow blow/shovel sidewalks and salt
  • Year round
  • pick up and empty debris in parking lots and church property Qualifications and Requirements
  • A strong personal relationship with Jesus, the body of Christ, & God's work in the world
  • Working knowledge of / and skilled in the use and maintenance of the appropriate materials and /or tools and equipment needed to do a particular job
  • Good organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and have complete mobility to perform all activities
  • There may be extended periods of standing, stooping, bending, walking
  • Works in extreme hot or cold conditions
  • Exposure to cleaning materials, paints, or solvents; wears common protective or safety equipment
Position Details:
    Part Time:
    18-20 hours per week
      Starting Wage:
      $17.00 per hour
        Hours:
        Sunday 7 am
        • 2 pm, Wednesday 4 or 5 pm
        • 9 pm, Saturday 8 am to 2 pm
