A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
Description Kingsway is currently seeking a Campus Porter.... Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the corridors, common areas, and medical equipment in a senior living facility. This role is essential to ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents and staff while supporting the overall operations of the housekeeping department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Disinfection of medical equipment, including wheelchairs, lifts, and shower chairs.
- Ensure all cleaned items are properly dried and stored in designated locations.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the facilities, including carpet extraction, stripping and waxing floors, and grout care.
- Dispose of garbage and recycling in a timely and sanitary manner, following facility protocols.
- Perform regular cleaning tasks, such as mopping floors, wiping down surfaces, and cleaning windows, to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Monitor supplies and notify supervisors of low stock or equipment issues.
- Assist with other housekeeping department duties as requested by supervisors.
- Adhere to environmental services safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Work collaboratively with department staff to ensure efficient operations during quiet hours and special events Kingsway is a locally-owned and family-operated senior living community located on a 25-acre campus in the Woodlawn section of Schenectady, New York.
