The Arc of Rensselaer is looking for a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our team and help maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our Brunswick Center Services location. In this important role, you will ensure the facility and grounds are kept in top condition, meeting both agency and regulatory standards. If you enjoy hands-on work, including cleaning and performing minor repairs, and have a strong sense of responsibility, this position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our mission. The job requires the physical capacity to lift over 50 lbs. on multiple occasions. As a Custodian , you will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for a variety of tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning appliances, washing windows, and managing garbage. You will also handle basic maintenance duties to keep the building looking its best. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety will be essential to your success. You will follow a scheduled routine to ensure the facility remains clean and orderly, while also adhering to OSHA compliance and safety protocols when working with cleaning chemicals. You will be a key point of contact for the Maintenance Supervisor, notifying them of any repairs or issues that require attention. Additionally, you will assist other program teams and departments as needed to address specific concerns. Security of the building is also part of your responsibilities, ensuring the facility is properly secured at the end of each shift.
