What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

As the SRO Janitor , you will play a pivotal role in individuals' lives, making a significant impact through: Ensure that Catholic Charities Housing Office Single Resident Occupancy buildings are in good repair at all times ensuring building safety and cleanliness. Routine interior maintenance as scheduled to ensure that building common areas are clean, entrances are free of debris and clutter, rugs are vacuumed and shampooed, all trash is picked up, garbage is taken out and stored neatly. Kitchen and bathrooms must meet high standards for cleanliness at all times. Responsible for inspecting and cleaning common areas (lobby, kitchen, lounges, bathrooms, halls) each shift/work location as assigned. Inspects grounds and performs tasks to maintain safe and clean grounds throughout the year. Inventories and maintains supply of cleaning materials in a neat and organized manner May assist in the preparation of vacant rooms for move-ins. Performs other duties as assigned.
